How it started

Opera op de Parade has been realized annually since 2007 by Opera Zuid, Philzuid, and Theater aan de Parade. Each year, the event takes on a new, surprising format.

 

The initiators share a clear ambition: to make opera accessible to the widest possible audience, from young to old. They do this by harnessing the power of live music. In the open air, with the impressive St. John's Cathedral as a backdrop, an experience is created in which visitors are introduced to opera and classical music in an accessible way.

 

What started as a shared wish grew into a unique annual festival that you experience together.
